As a mom with children in school I have seen my kids struggle with having to carry so many heavy books and loads of homework each night to and from school. I have picked up their backpacks and thought to myself, this is crazy! Using a backpack on wheels can help that a lot but unfortunately not all schools allow them.

Just a little while ago I had learned of Airbac. Talk about a great concept! Check out their product description below.

Product Description

In 2005, AirBac was just an idea.  After observing school kids dragging their heavy backpacks, an inventor went to work in his garage and created the lift back.  The very first bag was a modified book bag with a blood pressure device stitched into the back and when pumped with air, began to lift upright.  After undergoing many revisions and entering mass production, the AirBac came to be.  AirBac initially found success through parent/teacher associations, social events and a grass-roots campaign.  Chiropractors then saw the benefits of such a bag and began to sell it out of their catalogs.  Now AirBac is no longer just a school bag; it holds the laptops for business execs, camera equipment for photographers, and supplies for hikers but most of all, it takes the weight off your shoulders and spine.  You’ll feel like you’re carrying half the weight.  Innovation, creativity, and attention to comfort. This is the evolution of the backpack. This is AirBac.

AIRBAC2I was very excited when I received a Bump Backpack by Airbac to review on my blog. My oldest is in high school and carries really heavy books so I knew instantly that this product would be great for her. Some great features of this backpack are:

  • Airbac  technology support system
  • Wide comfort shoulder strap system
  • Multi-function interior organization
  • Universal mobile phone pocket
  • Internal padded laptop sleeve

The patented air support system is easy to fill. (see picture above)

  • Remove plug
  • Insert pin to fill
  • Fill to desired level
  • Reinsert plug
  • Stays filled for up to a year

The Airbac support system is great! It makes it feel like you’re carrying half the weight. It easily adjusts to any body type and promotes better posture and spinal alignment. My daughter has really enjoyed using this backpack so far this year. She says it is very comfortable and she loves all the spaces that she can keep her cell phone and school laptop. The only thing she wishes was different was there was more room for all her books. Once again, meaning, our kids are carrying way to many books then they should!

Not only does Airbac carry backpacks for school but they also offer backpacks for Travel, Photography equipment, Business, Sports, and even Cheerleader backpacks. =) They also come in a variety of colors and prints.

Wow, this bag is perfect for students who bring their books and notebooks everyday. We don’t have airbac here in our country. This brand is awesome.

  • Regina

I’m always helping my son to remove unnecessary items from his backpack to lighten the load. The seems like a neat alternative. Thanks. 🙂

  • jane

oh i love the support system! I wish I had this bag for my daughter when she was in primary one. but now they leave all their school things in their classrooms

  • Danielle

I got one of these earlier this year and I totally love it I got the leather Uptown bag and I use it for all of my heavy nursing school books. People are always asking me about too.

  • Grace | Life in an Island Paradise

Looks like a great back pack! And they offer bags for photographers too!:) Now, i’ll try to look for this brand at the mall.. I hope they have that here in the Philippines too!

  • Shelley Zurek

the airbac seems like just the ticket to take weight off a child’s back. When my kids got in high school the weight of the books became insane.

  • Anna

Okay…. I want that bookbag…. Looks so comfy and love the design! Great review!

  • XmasDolly

You know between all these back packs the kids throw on the back I always worry about then that when they grow up they’re going to have problems. I have spinal stenosis, and that’s major back problems, so you see my point don’t you? It’s a great idea that it feels lighter I must say!

  • Catherine S

What a great idea! I wish we had something like this when I was in school. I hated carrying all those heavy books.

  • michele d

Looks like a fantastic bag for school. With all the books the kids carry around this would be perfect.

  • Roch

The AirBac looks like normal backpack but it’s way different. I love the features and I’m thinking of getting one to carry my camera equipment.

  • paulina

This looks awesome. I had a backpack that had similar thing in it but this looks to be better. Than again mine is over 10 years old

  • Sandy

I never heard of AirBac before this. What a great concept. My daughter’s young right now but definitely somebody to buy when she gets older and has to carry lot more books.

  • Mary Ann

These are great backpacks, my kids have used them, too. Thanks for sharing your experience with them.

  • Emma T

Sounds like a great idea. And funky colours for children

  • Heather

What a great backpack! I remember how heavy mine was in high school I had a ton of back problems too.

  • Rebecca Swenor

I wish they had these when I was going to school. I love this idea and will have to get one for my son. Thanks for sharing.

  • Cindy (Vegetarian Mamma)

This is a very cool back pack! I need this to help my back pain!

  • Michelle de Guzman

The weight of back packs today is crazy! I really like this idea. It seems like it would be pretty awesome to have a back pack for travel that did this too.

  • Melissa Smith

This sounds like an amazing backpack! Especially since it can lighten the load, so to speak. Every kid should have one of these!

  • Kungphoo

My son walks around all day with i would say 40lbs of books.. this would be beneficial for him and his back.

  • Miriam Schulman ( SchulmanArt)

I love the harlequin pattern on that backpack! pink is great.

  • Candace

What a cool idea. I was total that girl that carried every book every night. I looked like a turtle!

  • Franc Ramon

I’m impressed by the Airbac technology. It’s also nice that it adopts to the contour of your body, so it doesn’t causes spine problems.

  • Michelle

The padding reminds me of my son’s car seat. It looks like something that would be comfortable for day long usage.

  • Myrah – Coupon Mamacita

I love this backpack! Kids have so many books to carry, and all that extra weight can damage their poor backs. This seems like a great way to take off some of the pressure.

  • Liz Mays

This is such a great idea. I remember when my daughter was in high school. Her backpack seemed more like a torture device than a book transport, it was so heavy.

  • Rosey

Such a good idea, I love this one! The books the kids have to carry around is atrocious for matters of weight, especially if their locker is too far from a class to make the trip and they have no choice but to carry them all around.

  • Mariah Applegate

So neat! I wish I had one of those when I was younger. My backpack was always so heavy with all of my books!

  • Robin (Masshole Mommy)

That sounds like an awesome backpack. I love the design of the one you got.
