Christmas memories….#ChosenByKids

“This is a sponsored post written by me for the Amp Agency and Sverve.”

While working on my Holiday Gift Guide this year I have been getting pretty excited. There’s many holidays throughout the year but my absolute favorite is Christmas. I love everything about it. I love it so much that right after Halloween I’m already decorating, yes I am one of those people. =) I enjoy shopping for my kiddos, wrapping their presents and seeing their smiling faces on Christmas morning.

To be honest, at times when I see all the new cool toys and gadgets they have today I wish I was still a kid. As you can see in my pictures I loved Christmas as a child too. I always used to get so excited that of course I would stay up late but eventually fall asleep just to get up real early and run to the Christmas tree to see what I got.

My parents didn’t have a lot of money while my siblings and I were growing up but they always made sure our Christmas was special. Did you ever wish for something for Christmas morning and was so happy to see it under the tree? I always loved what I got and was very thankful but there was one Christmas morning that I really loved. I had asked for a doll, like every other year but that specific year I got the Li’l Miss Makeup doll by Mattell. I thought she was so cool and pretty. All I had to do was use cold water to magically make her makeup appear then use warm water to take it off. I carried her everywhere with me.

I want my kiddos to feel the same way I did that Christmas morning. That’s why I can’t wait to attend the Walmart Toyland event that is happening November and December in stores. It will be so fun to see all the awesome toys and shop for my kiddos.

To see if your local Walmart is having an in store event visit HERE. This is one Toyland event you don’t want to miss! =)

My dad gave me a Holly Hobbie doll when I was about 8-9 years old. I kept that for many years after he died. Wish I still had her.

I’m with you on the point that there are so many toys and gadgets to pick from these days. When I was a kid, we had an array of toys but not the gadgetry…. It is a challenge for some parents to keep up. It’s great that some retailers offer special discounts to help out during the holidays.

  • Kendra

    I loved that doll also!!

I’m an early shopper so don’t feel bad about decorating early. I’ll start August or September if I see the right deals lol. My parents didn’t have a lot of money either and I was the oldest of 4 . Somehow though we always got what we wanted at Christmas.
