Cooking with Stonyfield for the holidays..


It’s that time of year again, leaves start falling from the trees, it starts getting cooler and the holidays soon approach thereafter. I always enjoy cooking a large meal for my family for Thanksgiving. A lot of times I myself and others worry that they are eating too many calories at this time of year because of all the food and treats. =) This holiday season I will be cooking with Stonyfield with some of the dishes I prepare and make. Stonyfield Greek Yogurt is a great way to substitute instead of using Butter, Heavy cream, Mayonnaise and more.. It’s healthier and can cut out calories. Our family loves Mashed Potatoes because it can go with just about anything and it is very simple to make. I decided this year I was going to step it up a little and add some Chives and Garlic to the Potatoes and substitute the Butter and Milk with Stonyfields Plain Greek Yogurt.

This is the recipe i just used recently to make Mashed Potatoes with Garlic and Chives.:


  • 7 Whole Potatoes washed and peeled
  • 1/4 ounce Organic Chives (diced into small pieces)
  • 1/2 tsp Organic Garlic (minced)
  • 3/4 cup of Stonyfield Organic Greek Plain Yogurt

After boiling the Potatoes and mashing them I added about a cup of potatoes to the Yogurt to introduce it gradually so the Yogurt didn’t separate (a little tip from Stonyfield) =) then added it fully to the Potatoes, then added the Chives and Garlic and mixed well. Walaa you now have some yummy Potatoes.
