Today while we were out picking up groceries; they had a great display of dessert shells, strawberries and whip cream all together. I walked past it at first and thought to myself, “wow! It’s been a long time (years) since I have had Strawberry Shortcake. I ended up picking up everything I needed to make this simple yummy dessert. My kids couldn’t wait until after supper to try this yummy treat.
First the kiddos helped me wash the strawberries and I cut them up, we decided to also cut up a banana as well. =) I couldn’t remember for the life of me was I suppose to use sliced strawberries or a puree. I decided to put the strawberries in a blender with a little bitty bit of water. If you like to sweeten things up even more I had thought of putting some stevia sweetener or organic sugar in the mix. The kids thought the little dessert dishes looked cool. After dumping the mixture in each shell we topped it off with some whip cream.
This is definitely a pretty easy recipe to throw together real quick when you want something sweet but don’t have the time to bake. Kids love it too. =)
