Help Fight Childhood Cancer (Million Mile Run)

Have you heard of the Million Mile Run to help fight Childhood Cancer?

To find a cure for childhood cancer, we’re going the distance…one million miles. That’s a long way, but a parent of a child with cancer would go that far (and then some) to find a cure. Join Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation during the month of September (Childhood Cancer Awareness Month) as we collectively run or walk one million miles to raise funds and spread the word of the need to support childhood cancer research.

1 month, 1 cause, 1 million miles…we need your help!

  • One million miles is 40 times around the equator or two round-trips to the moon. But it’s only 76 miles for each kid or adolescent who will be diagnosed with cancer this year in the United States alone. Childhood cancer is the leading cause of death by disease in children under the age of 15 in the United States. That’s why it is vital that we raise money to cure it, now.
  • You aren’t doing this alone! The Million Mile Run is a collective effort of supporters across the globe. You can walk or run your miles, by yourself or in combination with teammates any time during the month of September.

How Will This Work? (The Million Mile Run Math)

  • 10,000 teams (or individuals) x 100 miles = 1 million miles We’re recruiting 10,000 runners or walkers (or teams) who will run 100 miles each (or, for teams, collectively) throughout the month of September.
  • Pledges/mile x 1 million miles = Millions of dollars for kids with cancer There is no fee to sign up, but we ask each individual or team to try to obtain pledges per mile or donations to support their team. Just think, if we could collectively raise $10/per mile, we would raise $10 million for pediatric cancer research in just one month!
