Heres to a better year…..

Well here’s to 2016! I don’t know about you but the year 2015 wasn’t a really good year for me. At the beginning of the year I yet again decided it was time to eat better in hopes of losing weight. I looked back on my post from the beginning of the year and noticed that I’m actually up 5lbs from what I was this time last year. Totally failed on that avenue of losing weight and the struggle is very real folks. I’m the heaviest I have ever been and not really sure why since I’m always busy around the house cleaning. I’m assuming depression has a very big roll in it not to mention very bad eating habits between my husband and I. It is so easy to eat poorly because life is so busy. That is probably one of my biggest excuses.

For the new year I have many hopes of change. I’m now on day 2 of cutting out all fast food, sodas, chips and crap I used to eat before. I’m feeling pretty good about eating better because I have to. I’ve had over 30 years eating poorly so it’s time to change. I have hypertension which scares me and was finally diagnosed with Psoriatic Arthritis and really scared about taking an injection to help slow down the progression. I know losing weight will help all of these health issues.

Another thing I’m doing different this year is getting rid or at least trying to rid of all negativity and negative people in my life even if it is family. Unfortunately on Christmas which is my most favorite holiday I was already feeling down and not like Christmas and someone from my husbands side of the family did something so stupid that it upset me pretty badly. I don’t know if Christmas will ever been the same again.

Another big change that is going to happen is with my blog. I was really hoping that I would have excelled and gotten better with traffic to my blog this past year since I am going on three years but haven’t really made it any where. I have found that reviewing items that are a low value is a really waste of my time and not really worth it to me. So this year I will be posting more personal posts about family, recipes, craft. I will still continue to bring my readers reviews that have giveaways included in them and sponsored posts.

My most important change that I will be making is having better relationships with my kiddos and husband by spending more quality time with everyone. Having a large family keeps everyone here really busy and sometimes we forget to take a moment and just spend time with one another without electronics and all that.

Do you have plans for 2016? Do you make resolutions? How was your 2015?

Until next time… have a beautiful day! =)

2015 has been good year for me. For 2016, I’d love to make it better by being healthier and more productive. I hope you can reach all your goals! Can’t wait to read more.

  • jared’s mum

i tried to make a list of my goals and resolutions for each year and try harder not to be too hard on myself, in case i was not able to follow through with my list. the new year is yet another chance to try and realize those goals. i think the key is to keep trying and to never lose hope that things will eventually take a turn for the better.

just hang in there, things promised to be better + awesome this year! 🙂 and yes, cheers to more posts about family, crafts, and stuff that make us happy!

  • Kate

These are great – especially the part about releasing negativity!

  • Ashleigh

I’m just planning on taking better care of myself this year. My kids love me so much and I should love myself just as much.

  • April Mims

I’ve set a few goals for 2016 that build on what I’ve done already. The important thing is to gradually ease into changes and not try to start too much too soon.

  • Jessica Simms

I plan on growing my blog and taking it to where I’ve been dreaming for it to be for a few years now. Also focusing on myself and my health. All the while balancing my 4 kids, sounds easy but I’m sure I will have a blast figuring it all out.

  • CourtneyLynne

Sounds like you are ready to kick 2016’s butt!!! Good luck with your goals. Can’t wait to read about them

  • Shanéy Maharaj

I actually sat down and wrote my goals for the year. Definitely want to expand my blog and spend more time with my kids. Need to create a schedule.

  • Bites for Babies

You’ll be amazed at how much your life changes for the better once you get rid of the negativity in your life. It really makes such a difference!

  • Chubskulit Rose

Good luck on your goals this year. It sounds like you’re on the right track. Getting read of negative people and focusing on positing things will help you achieve your goal.

  • Erin

I normally set all sorts of resolutions. This year I’m not. Im just going to aim to keep growing, personally and professionally and let that be that!

  • Sicorra@NotNowMomsBusy

Hope your new year goes well. Identifying the things you want to change is half the battle. Good luck!

  • Melissa

I did lose some weight through the year but it wasn’t my intention. I set out to be healthy and dropped 50 pounds along the way. It wasn’t easy but it was a much needed side effect because I was very much overweight. If I could do it, you can do it, trust me! I hope you meet all of your goals this year and keep up the good work on being healthy!

  • Lynndee

We had a great 2015 and we couldn’t be more thankful. There were lows, but not enough to not make it a great year. I hope your 2016 would be much better.

  • Cherri Megasko

2015 could have been better for us as well but it was still awesome. We have lots of travel planned for this year and are expecting a new grandbaby at the end of March!

  • Michelle

I’m sorry to hear 2015 wasn’t so good to you. In the bright side 2016 is a fresh start to make new choices with our health and the people we surround ourselves with. Good luck to you and your blog goals.

  • Crystal Lopez

Thank you for sharing your focus for 2016. Sometimes it is just what we need to do to have successful year and improve the way we feel. I hope this new year is much better for you.

  • Tatanisha Pitts-Worthey

I normally don’t do new year’s resolutions but I always strive to make myself better, everyday. Cheers to a new year, to new beginnings and to new adventures!

  • Tiffany @ Daily Leisure

We didn’t have a great 2015 either. I started losing weight in October, so I hope I continue it, but it is SO HARD! I look forward to seeing the blog changes!

  • Karissa @WithOurBest

Life sure does have it’s ups and downs. I know it isn’t always easy, but I think 2016 will be so much better. It will be a great year!

    Thanks Liz. =)

Those sound like really great goals Jenn. =)

  • Jenn

This sounds like a great plan for 2016. My goal for this year is to not be invisible! I want to let in all the positivity and for getting rid of the negative!

  • Chrystal | Nevermore Lane

I am really looking forward to this year. I am going through a divorce, but its mutual and not bitter or full of anger. So I am looking to the new year with new eyes and new goals.

  • Liz Mays

I hope you have a great year of blogging and home life too. I haven’t set any solid goals for myself yet but I should!

  • Stacie @ Divine Lifestyle

I’m sorry to hear that Christmas might have been permanently ruined for you! =( I am happy to hear that you’re going to focus more on family in the coming year. I’m doing that as well. I got too caught up in other things and let myself forget what’s most important.

  • Jeanette

These are all really good ideas. I discovered the same thing that with my blog and low-cost route views no one really cared. So now I’m always careful with what I review and what I do on my blog. The more personal it is I think the more people like it because it is real.

  • Megan Elford

I don’t really make New Year’s resolutions, but I do try to work on things through the year. Blogging-wise, I’ve been doing this for awhile too, and it does get discouraging when other people see such great results so quickly. But hang in there! You’re doing an awesome job, keep it up!

  • OurFamilyWorld

This is a great list. I really don’t make New Year’s resolutions, but I try my best to improve myself.

  • Robin (Masshole Mommy)

I hope you have a great year in 2016! I am looking forward to some great things this year, too.

Hi Nancy, I’m so glad to hear that you enjoy entering giveaways. I will still be hosting giveaways for my readers whenever there is a chance available. I’m just going to be doing less reviews. =) Hope you stick around. <3

  • Donna Northrup

As a rule I don’t generally make New Years resolutions! When I was younger growing up with my children I realized each year I promised myself something to be resolute about and on reflection of those years they never panned out. Now I just take a few moments daily to remind myself to be kind to others (no matter what), to be thankful for everything God has given me (even when things are not so good), and remind myself to like myself. Those reasonings, when put in perspective, make life worth getting up in the morning and living! I am now happy within and will not let anyone take that away from me! I approach most things with humor and smile often! Always do what is right for you! Make this a new year filled with precious memories Bonnie!

  • Nancy

I really enjoy entering the giveaways on your blog. I’d be sad if you discontinued your giveaways – please reconsider!
