I did it! I finally did it!

I did it! I finally did it! What did I specifically do? Well quite a bit since the first of this year. At the beginning of the year instead of making resolutions I made some goals and thought about what I wanted to see happen differently this year. Not that we can always choose what the entire years outcome will bring us but we can hope that some things we want to happen for change happens.

This past week I have had NO soda, NO take out of any kind, NO PIZZA (one of our biggest downfalls) and all of our meals for the entire family have been made from scratch. NO more 5 minute drive through the window or throwing something in the microwave for a boxed meal. With those meals though, gets pretty time-consuming having to wash vegetables and fruits, chop, dice or whatever we may be doing at that time for a meal but I actually love it! Even my husband is loving it and spends a lot of time with me preparing and cooking too. He even bought me a wok this past week because we were to have stir-fry that evening lol.

This past week I also did one of my exercise tapes I haven’t done in years. It was only 15 minutes, and yes it pretty damn near killed me but it felt great to do it and hoping that as the more I eat healthier and lose weight it will become easier to do with some limitations of course. Knowing all the health problems I have as well as my husband eating healthier and getting our heart rate up should help us feel better.

Although my husband and I are not following a specific diet we are aiming to lose weight and will be checking our progress weekly. For our first week my husband is down 3 lbs and I’m down 6 lbs. =)

Did you set any goals this year?

Until next time…. Thanks for stopping by and please subscribe if you haven’t already to keep up on updates. =)

Great start to the new year! Keep up the good work Bonnie!

  • Yona Williams

Congrats on making strides with your goal. I made a goal to exercise more in the wintertime. It hasn’t been going well since I had to unexpectedly travel and have been trying to balance that with doing work with a spotty Internet connection.

That’s really good! Last year from May till November we didn’t have pizza delivered. That’s a big change because before moving to the new house we would have pizza at least 3 times a week! lol I for one love cooking even when it gets timed consuming when I do things like potato soup and have to peel and chop veggies. It’s worth it because everyone here love it.

What a great job! Keep it up on the goals. My goal this year is to just take better care of myself and not be so stressed.

  • Alison

Wow! 6lbs that’s amazing for the first week…well for any week really! We’re starting our new diet plan next week (Weird timing but that’s when our new classes at the gym start), so I’m anxious to see if I can stay with it this time around!

I love cooking healthy meals, and I feel better afterwards, but we are on a budget and unfortunately vegetables are so much more than the nasty stuff. 🙁 We will get back on track soon!

This is the motivation I need, tomorrow I start my 1 cup of hot tea and water the rest of the day. I will also start my DVD workout this week.

Congrats! I’ve been eating healthy since last year and lost 20 pounds. My goal is for my whole family to eat healthy.

  • Melissa

That’s great! Keep up the good work! Before you know it you will look forward to those workout videos. I need to start working out, I lost a bunch of weight but have been sitting all of the time with less movement than I ever before so I think if I worked out it would make me feel even better.

Congrats! The hard part will be keeping on your path! I need to eat healthier and get more excerise too, but my New Years Resolution is to make more Reservations/plans, to do things with my husband and family!

OMGosh! Yah! YAH! One step at a time, even of they are baby steps. All it takes is a few minutes a day and once you get going, things do get easier and you will do it longer.
