Hey everyone! =) So it’s been 2 weeks since the beginning of this new year and I have been feeling more alive and energetic in these past 2 weeks then I have in a very long time. A little recap from week 1, some of my biggest goals for this new year was to stop eating takeout, drinking soda, and to stay as organic and natural as I can with all the food that is prepared in our home. With that said in week 1 I lost 6lbs and my husband lost 3lbs. Woohoo. That was enough to keep me motivated.
Week 2 had been pretty smooth as well. I had no cravings for take out or soda. For 16 days now I have drank more water then I probably did all year last year, maybe not, but pretty close haha. Now when my husband and I shop we make sure we are not hungry when we go so we aren’t tempted to buy everything and also not buy snacks that we used to eat like chips and brownies. This week we also came up with a monthly meal plan so we know what we are eating everyday of the month. Cooking for a large family takes a long time and when your cooking from scratch it takes even longer so knowing what we need to take out for meat the night before or getting stuff prepared for the next day really helps. It has been working pretty well.
I have been wanting to get some exercise into my days and sometimes there isn’t any time and it has been so cold here I haven’t been able to step outside and take a walk. Instead I have been doing an exercise tape indoors.
My husband and I have been weighing in once a week. I used to jump on the scale everyday before but doing it this way makes it more surprising. After stepping on the scale this week I wasn’t sure if I had lost or not, it seemed that it was that I lost 1lb but then when I got to the calender where I wrote down our weight from last week I realized it was 5lbs I lost this week. My husband lost 1lb. I have lost 11 lbs in 2 weeks and my husband is down 4 lbs. Not only has my husband lost weight but his blood sugar numbers have gone from the high 200’s and 300’s to 80’s to mid-high 100’s. So things are changing for the better there too.
