As a busy momma to 5, my days are pretty hectic! Although my days are pretty busy I still make sure that when Supper time rolls around I’m serving my family a healthy home cooked meal. Serving home cooked meals does get pretty time-consuming especially on busy weeknights so a few months ago I started making monthly meal plans. It saves me money and time. The only problem I was having with that was we were eating the same type of meals over and over again! It gets pretty boring to say the least.
Last month I was contacted by PlateJoy to see if I would be interested in trying their platform of meal planning and happily accepted. 😉
PlateJoy is a pretty neat website that designs healthy meal plans customized to your weight loss goals, dietary preferences, health goals and busy schedule. You can choose meal planning for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. Upon visiting their website I noticed it was friendly and easy to navigate. At the beginning I was asked a few questions and was able to add my entire family to the menus. I chose low-fat and kid friendly meals because we are trying to eat healthier and also some of my kiddos are pretty picky.
After my account was set up I was able to see my current menu, recipes and shopping list. Since we are currently doing monthly meal planning in our home I had decided on choosing 2 nights a week to try something new from our list of recipes on PlateJoy.
Each week I receive an email letting me know that my new recipes are available. If there are some recipes that I don’t believe my family would all enjoy I can delete them and have only the ones I’m interested in showing.
Each recipe comes with a shopping list that you can print out which I really love. Beforehand they ask you what ingredients you currently have at home so it’s not added to your list.
We’ve tried a few recipes so far and our first and one of our favorites so far was the Cashew Chicken. Mmm it turned out really good! I really enjoy trying out all the new recipes and having PlateJoy do the work for me by offering new recipes and letting me know what I need to make it.
