Our family just recently had one of the best opportunities of our lives to visit Six Flags, the thrill capital of New England. I had only been to Six Flags once in my life and that was in Georgia and I was probably 9 or 10 years old, so it had been awhile! All I could remember from that time was it was so much fun and way better than a city fair. I was so excited to be able to have my kiddos experience Six Flags as well.
We had a little travel to get there so we made sure we booked a couple of nights at a nearby hotel so we didn’t have to rush around the park and head right home.
Upon arriving to the park and getting through the gates they had a little show for the crowd because the park hadn’t officially opened yet. (I like how they let you in a little early before hand so the lines aren’t crazy). Petunia Pig and Tweety instantly caught my little guys attention. He had never seen anything like it before. He was probably wondering how did they get out of the tv. =)
It was nice that they interacted with the audience as well by throwing a ball to see how long it could be passed around and they also had asked everyone who had traveled the furthest. I thought we had, but a family from North Carolina had us beat on that lol.
Six Flags New England has everything and I mean everything! We are a family of 7 and our 5 kiddos have different personalities so some like thrill rides, some are a little scared of fast rides so they prefer slower ones and my youngest is at that right age to enjoy some of the kiddie and family rides.
My husband and my oldest son are the ones that absolutely love the thrill rides and went on them all! They particularly loved the Goliath, it is very fast and also makes you go upside down and backwards as well. They have over 20 Thrill rides at Six Flags for you to enjoy. =)
I was so happy to see that our 2-year-old would be able to enjoy some rides as well. He and his siblings loved the ZoomJets and went on them multiple times. They loved going around and around in the planes.
They have tons of rides for little kids like Krazy Kars, The Great Chase, Daffy’s Hollywood tours and so much more.
With Summer, comes the heat and of course being at a park all day will certainly make you thirsty. I love that they offer these big orange cups and you can get free refills that same day. It costs $15 per cup or less when you buy more. It may sound like a lot but that’s a great price when you’re getting free refills your entire day. If you return another day with the same cup all you pay is $4.99 to refill all that day.
If you like games they have a lot to choose from. From basketball hoops, balloon popping, and more, they also have an arcade room where you will find tons of more games. I liked playing the claw games where you try to win a stuffed animal.
That afternoon they had a dance party which we caught the tail end of it because the kids were having so much fun on rides that we forgot what time it started. My little guy had fun getting his picture taken with Daffy.
Along with all the fun during the day you have to make sure you stop and eat. They offer Pizza, Subs, Asian Cuisine, Ice Cream and Sweets, Healthy Options, Mexican, Italian and more.. You will certainly find something your taste buds desire while visiting there. I like how they have tables to sit at while you eat. We are a large family so instead of getting pizza by the slice we ordered the whole pizza. We seated ourselves and when it was done they brought it out to us which I thought was pretty nice.
Watch our video below to see more pictures of the park and short video clips of the different rides in motion. =)
One area of the park we didn’t experience was the Hurricane Harbor Water Park. We had brought towels but didn’t have the right swimming attire for the park. We still were able to cool down at different stations that had water but next time we visit we will certainly be prepared to have fun in the water.
Our family gives Six Flags New England 14 thumbs up!
So if you’re looking for a great adventure with your family we highly recommend visiting the thrill capital of New England.
A very special shout out and thank you to Jennifer for letting our family review the park and Jessi from Fast Eddie’s Diner and Chris from Brown Derby for being extra helpful and making our family feel welcome at Six Flags.
