The start of my Gardening

I love gardening and every year is a learning experience for me. I started 7 years ago and since my first year didn’t go as planned I have read a lot and have gotten advice from others that garden.

I told myself that this year I would choose 3-4 different veggies to plant but of course loving gardening as much as I do I have over ten different types planted this time. =) I also picked up a composter this year which is something new for me. I’m really excited about composting.

Other plants that are new to me this year that I planted are Blueberries, Raspberries, Blackberries and a Rosebush. Even though we moved from the country to the City I am pretty lucky to have so much area to plant on. I’m also using my deck to plant in containers as well.

Last year my husband picked me up a small raised garden bed that went very well for us last year and I was able to plant a lot of lettuce and squash that time around. This year I’m using that same box and growing lettuce, onions and broccoli. For Mother’s Day this year we built a very large raised garden as you can see above with stepping-stones in the center for uniqueness.  In that we have growing lettuce, brussel sprouts, spinach, cabbage, swiss chard, bell pepper and hot peppers.

I’m also growing green beans, potatoes, cherry tomatoes, spices and I still have to find an area to plant the kiddos pumpkins in hopes they can all have one for October. =)

I can’t wait to see how these all turn out. I will be having updates every couple of weeks and hope you come back and visit. What kind of veggies do you plant?

Thanks for visiting WEMAKE7! =)

Very nice! I hope it all works out for you. I love gardening, except for the whole bug part since I hate bugs lol. I’ve been gardening this year and had an almost 4 foot pumpkin plant until my pup ripped it out of the ground. But thankfully I had a backup one going but still ugh lol. I can’t wait until I move next year and will be able to garden in much better dirt as I find so much satisfaction out of being able to grow things to fruition from a little seed.

Moving from Wisconsin to Utah was a learning experience for gardening. I found out the hard way what I couldn’t plant in a short spring, high desert area. I’m trying Stevia plants this year and hopefully can grow these successfully for natural sweetness replacement from sugar.

This is such a lovely idea! I find gardening a wonderful way to relax and unwind. I have a small balcony this year so won’t be growing any veggies…only a few flowers. Thanks for sharing your pictures. Looking forward to seeing the updates. 🙂

Good luck with all the gardening this year! I have tried in the past to plant both pretty flowers in my front yard and some veggies. They never live past one season. I guess I just don’t have a green thumb

Good luck on your garden. I am only growing tomatoes. I need to have more things in a garden. Maybe next year.
