Sweet Haddock & Corn Chowda Recipe

haddock, new england, soup, chowder, corn chowder, fish chowder, recipe,

As the cold weather hits I tend to make more soups and chowders to feed my family. Not only are they delicious and filling but they also warm the belly. One of my biggest goals that I set for this new year was to make our meals from scratch as much as possible and get away from processed and prepared meals. I have been having a blast in the kitchen cooking with my husband and our kiddos have been lending a hand in the kitchen too.

  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 4 cups diced potatoes
  • 10 ounces frozen or canned whole kernel corn
  • 12 ounces Haddock, diced into 1/2 inch cubes
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 14 ounces condensed milk

How do you warm up on a cold Winter day?

  • Louise

This is a nice recipe to try! We have been so used to buying and using the ready-made mix from grocery stores. This would be a great chance to finally eat something out of fresh ingredients.

  • Shanéy Maharaj

Never tried corn chowder before but looks like a great winter meal. Definitely going to try it this year.

  • Ashleigh

My boyfriend would love this dish. He usually gets something similiar from a soup can, but homemade would be so much better.

I love fish and eat it quite regularly. For the life of me though, I can’t get with the fish in a bowl program. I have some weird texture issues when it comes to certain foods and I just can’t eat them in certain situations. I can’t seem to get around fish in any method other than baked or pan fried.

  • Lynndee

We warm it up with soup too. 🙂 It’s been cold today and I just had me a bowl of soup actually. Your soup looks delish.
