Hey everyone! How was everyone’s New Years Eve night? I didn’t do much expect hang out at home. I find that now that I’m older I cannot stay up until midnight and watch the ball drop but either way, here it is – 2017!
With a new year always comes new resolutions or goals for many people, I myself included. Many years ago (10 to be exact) my yearly resolution was to quit smoking. Although I didn’t quit from the start of that year I can proudly say that I have not had a cigarette in 10 years! Sometimes it’s hard to believe that I was ever a smoker. Every year since then I think my resolution has been to lose weight.
Fast forward to January 1, 2016. Same resolution as before but this time knowing that there had to be many changes to be made. I was the heaviest I had ever been and really unhealthy and ill. Last year for me flew by way too fast. I did manage to learn about and eat more organic food and the last half of the year live a mostly vegetarian lifestyle.
Today. Moment of truth.. I stepped on the scale like I always do when I start a new way of eating and living. I am 25 pounds lighter than I was last year on this date. A great thing ya, but knowing I could have been to my goal weight by now makes me kind of sad. No tears from me though, I’m actually pretty excited to start again today. I have run into some health issues (more to come later) and I’m hoping that getting back into better eating will help me feel better.
