Weight loss journey week 11!! I can’t believe my husband and I have been at this new way of life for 11 weeks now. Its had its ups and downs but we are still pushing through. This week we have spent a lot of time at the gym and I love it. Unfortunately though my husband has hurt both his knees somehow (exercising at the gym) I’m assuming. So now when we go he’s pretty much just working on his upper half until he gets to his apt this upcoming week to see what is going on with his knees.
I think the beginning of the week there was a day that we strayed a little bit but got right back on track the next day. Before we used to go a lot of days of eating poorly so I’m really proud of us to get over that bad day and just continue on our journey.
I’m worried about my husbands diabetes because he is taking oral meds for it and was supposed to start insulin but his numbers got better so it is meds only for now. A couple of days this week he said he didn’t feel well and checked his blood sugar and it was 50, a low number and a big change from his high blood sugar numbers. Hopefully his doctor can figure out if he needs his meds anymore or at least change the dosage.
Although I love getting healthier and losing weight I still wonder where the 30 lbs went that I lost so far. I think I see that my face is getting thinner and I know my rings are not tight anymore and there is a certain pair of boots I own that used to be so hard to get on are now easy to put on but 30 lbs is a lot and just feels like clothing should be getting looser. Then I ask others that know me if it looks like I’m losing weight and no one can see a difference except my daughters physical therapist that sees us once a week. So that gets frustrating but I do feel better and know that eventually I’ll see the changes.
This week I am down another 2 lbs, thought It would be more since I really worked hard at the gym all week. My husband has stayed the same weight this week. I’m thinking that maybe we should start counting calories because for this past 3 months we have been just eating and not really counting anything. Maybe it will help better. Total weight loss now is 32 lbs for me and 5 for my hubby.
