Weight Loss Journey Week 13 + 14! Where did the time go?

weight loss, weight, journey, goals, gym, healthy

Where or where did the time go? I normally post weekly about our weight loss journey but now finding myself rolling 2 weeks into one post. The past few days I have been pretty sick with a really nasty cold that seems to be deep in my lungs as well. I also have this itchy red rash that started on my upper back and now is spreading to the sides of my neck and finally saw the doctor about it today. She thinks it’s contact dermatitis and I’m really hoping it goes away soon because it is so miserable wanting to itch at it all the time.

In week 13 I got a new little gadget that I have always wanted, I have been trying to win one from other blogs and giveaways on-line but had no luck so after making a little money from my blog I went ahead and bought one. I got myself a fitbit flex. I would love to get one of the more expensive ones but I’m really enjoying this one too. It’s really cool to be able to see how many steps I’m getting in the day as well as activity. Another great thing I have been liking about it is checking out the sleep activity portion of it. I already knew I get crappy sleep and the fitbit has really shown me how bad my sleep really is. Not only am I not getting enough but the total restless/awake at night is not good at all either. Hoping to be able to work on getting more sleep though.

I continued to hit the gym about twice a day and even got my 2 oldest kiddos involved in going as well. It’s great that they like going. 😉 My husbands knees finally started to feel better so he has been able to do more at the gym. For week 13 my husband lost 1 lb and I lost 2lbs.

For this past week (week 14) I started to feel sick, was at the gym and knew that I was coming down with something, sure enough I couldn’t really move the next day and thought I sweated out everything that was going on but still feel kind of yucky and have this really deep cough going on. I’m hoping that changes because I haven’t been to the gym all week and that’s not like me. I’ve been taking it easy in hopes to get back to the way it was before I started feeling ill. This week my husband and I decided to change up our eating habits by using the fitbit flex and setting goals and sticking to the calories that it suggested to see how that would work. For the past 3 months we had just been eating better and not really counting anything. So far so good.

So as the 14th week ended and it was time to hit the scale again I didn’t think I would have made much progress but I was amazed at another 3 lbs lost for me and another 1 lb lost for my hubby. Total weight loss since Jan. 1 2016 for me is 39 lbs! 7 lbs for my hubby! I think the last time I shared my post I was frustrated that no one, not even me could see the difference but now I’m starting to, when my husband and I hug I can tell the difference lol, like when we wrap our arms around each other, just seems like it’s easier to do that. There’s this button up flannel I bought in the mens section and at one point it was kinda tight when buttoned and now I can wrap it around me so that definitely showed me a change. I’m really getting excited about getting healthier and losing weight.

Thanks for stopping by and following our weight loss journey and hope to see you again soon. 😉

I’m glad you kept pushing through even though the last time you shared with us your journey you were frustrated. I’ve been told push through it because even though you don’t see results, something is happening and you might not catch it until a week or 2 later.

Wow! Thirty-nine pounds is pure awesome! I’ve experienced the same thing when hugging my husband … isn’t it great when your arms reach further and further around? I think that may be even more satisfying than seeing my clothes fit looser. Congratulations on your progress – keep on goin!!
