Hey! How is everyone doing this week? Yesterday came as a little surprise when the phone rang at 6am with the school recording that the kiddos had no school due to inclement weather. The day before we were in the mid 50’s and yesterday brought us almost a foot of snow lol so Winter finally starts for us here I suppose.
This past week at the beginning of it I added some more exercise into my routine and apparently over did it because boy was my thighs sore, I couldn’t even walk right lol. No pain, no gain I guess? I did take a couple of days off because between the thigh pain it felt like one of my knee caps was not in its right place, uh oh! I have to keep remembering that I’m an overweight woman not light at all so I probably shouldn’t be trying to do what I have been doing to the extreme.
My doctor called me this week after some blood work and said my good cholesterol numbers were good but my bad cholesterol and something else, maybe triglycerides? were above normal but we are both certain that my new way of eating will change these numbers and we both can’t wait to see the results in 6 weeks after a redraw.
One amazing thing I noticed this week is that my wedding rings are fitting better now. There were times I had to take them off because my hands would swell up so bad at night that it would cut off circulation. =( It probably doesn’t help that I had gained almost 80 lbs since I got married. YIKES! Anyways, I’m changing that right now even if it takes me a year! I’m sick of being fat and never want to go back to where I was.
My husbands blood sugar numbers continue to stay good and I’m really happy that this way of eating has changed those numbers dramatically, in a good way.
We are still cooking our meals from scratch and next week starts a new menu for us. Each month I have been coming up with new meals for the week and buying what is needed for the month so instead of running around trying to figure out what we are having I can look at our menu and know what to make. It works pretty good. =)
Okay, okay I’ll stop rambling on lol. For week 5 my weight loss total was 2 lbs and my husbands weight stayed the same. Total weight loss to date for me is 18 lbs and my husband 4 lbs. With a total of 22 lbs between the both of us. =)
