You wouldn’t believe the changes! Weight Loss Journey Week??!!!

So it’s been awhile since I have checked in with you all on my weight loss journey progress. I really thought that when the kiddos started school my days would get easier and have more time to do things but boy was I wrong lol.

I don’t even know how many weeks it has been since I started all of this but all I know it was on January 1st of this year. I have had my ups and downs but mostly have been doing okay. There’s been some big changes in my life since last month. I have been watching a lot of documentaries on GMO’s and it scared me a lot. I knew that there are unhealthy foods out there but didn’t realize what exactly was in most of the food in stores today. After leaning about it my husband and I actually have started living our life as vegetarians. We still use eggs and dairy, I don’t think I could go completely vegan but only opt for organic eggs and dairy products. Most of our shopping is done at local co ops and stores that carry a lot of local and organic products. We no longer eat ANY processed foods, soda (unless organic) and have not been through a drive thru in 5 weeks!

Some crappy changes that have been going on is hair loss. =( For some reason I have been losing my hair, started a few months ago and still waiting to see a dermatologist that I cannot get in to see for months. Hoping its nothing but we will see. Doesn’t help the self esteem when I’m trying to look and feel better. Another change I am going through is ditching 2 blood pressure medications I was on. I had read that one of them I was on can cause hair loss and a lot of other problems so I told my doc I wanted off of them. It was really scary coming off them because my body was used to having those medicines to keep my blood pressure down for the past few years. It’s probably been a 2 weeks or so and I no longer feel the effects of coming off them. My blood pressure is a little higher than normal but I know with continued exercise and eating right it will soon be normal.

I’m trying to get to the gym when possible and love being there. This time around I am not weighing myself as often because this new lifestyle is one I want to have forever now so I don’t consider it a diet, it’s my new way of life. I can say that in less than 5 weeks I have lost 17 lbs! 😉 I think from making a change to new foods and ditching other foods it has really been helpful. Now when I look in the fridge I laugh because of what it used to look like and now you will find tons of packages of tofu lol yes TOFU, fruits, veggies, organic eggs, yogurt, homemade applesauce and jams I made this Summer. Such a change but I love it! 😉

    Thanks for the reminder. I need to start a weight loss program to ensure my health stays well so I can be healthy for when I become a grandpa! That is my dream. Plus, less blood pressure meds would be awesome for me as well!
